A column on the main page next to last post that shows how many new posts have been made in that category in the past 24 hours. Or if possible new unread posts bases on users intdrainedction.

Or a secondary feature : the ability to follow a thread of interest an get notifications of new posts added to a specific category.

You can already subscribe to threads, there's a Subscribe button on the top right of the first post.
